Am I allowed a courtesy van if my van is written off or stolen?

A courtesy van will be provided to you in the United Kingdom, the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man while your van is being repaired by a Volkswagen Commercial Vehicle approved repairers following an accident or theft. A courtesy vehicle will not be provided if you choose not to use an approved repairer, or your vehicle is stolen and not recovered.

Am I able to drive abroad with my vehicle on European Cover?

By taking out a policy with Volkswagen Commercial Vehicle Insurance you are automatically covered to take your vehicle to the countries listed below:
Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Gibraltar, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, The Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Republic of Ireland, Romania, San Marino, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.

What happens if I change my vehicle in the middle of the year?

Please call the customer services team on 0844 391 4116 and they will update your policy, providing your new vehicle fits our underwriting criteria.

Do I get a discount if I insure two vehicles with you?

Unfortunately not, there are no discounts for insuring a second vehicle.

What documents do I submit as proof of my no claims discount?

This should be on your renewal schedule from your previous insurer, alternatively, your previous insurer can send you a proof of no claims letter, the documents must be up to date and must also be the original.

Can I cancel my policy after taking it out and will I be charged?

Reflection period
You may cancel this policy within 14 days of the date you receive it. You can do this by returning the Certificate of Motor Insurance to us. If you choose to do this you are entitled to a refund of the premium you have paid for this insurance.  We will charge a pro rata premium subject to a minimum premium of £15 (plus insurance premium tax) except where an incident has occurred which may give rise to a total loss claim, in which case the full annual premium may be payable to us.

Cancellation outside of reflection period
We will not refund your premium if you have made a claim during the period of insurance or you have taken out a policy to provide less than one year’s cover. Any refund will be based on the date you return the current Certificate of Motor Insurance to us. If you cancel the policy before the first renewal date, we will refund the part of the premium you have not yet used less a charge of £50. If you cancel the policy after the first renewal date, we will refund the part of the premium you have not yet used less a charge of £15.

Can I decrease my excess to £0?

There is a compulsory policy excess that will apply and this cannot be reduced, if you opt to take a voluntary excess this can be reduced back to zero.

Can I have my Direct Debit payment coming out on a certain date each month?

You cannot specify a date. Your Direct Debit will always be due to come out on the same date as your policy start date. For example, if your policy start date is the 12th February your subsequent Direct Debit payments will be taken from your account on the 12th of each month.

Does this policy cover me to drive other vehicles?

No, you are not covered to drive other vehicles.
